A DECIMATOR foi formada em Julho de 1999, na cidade de Porto Alegre (RS), com o propósito de praticar um Thrash Metal agressivo, rápido e cru, influenciado diretamente pelos precursores do estilo. No mês de Fevereiro de 2003 foi gravado o primeiro CD da banda, um CD Promo gravado ao vivo com três músicas próprias que teve boa repercussão no underground, com distribuição aproximada de 450 cópias. Este trabalho de divulgação rendeu a banda cerca de 50 shows nos estados do RS e SC junto as mais respeitadas bandas da região Sul. Em dezembro de 2004, em parceira com o selo holandês Final Punishment Records é lançado Decimating Thrashterror, compilação do Promo e versões de ensaios gravadas em 2003. As 200 cópias rapidamente se esgotaram levando o nome Decimator a países como Holanda, Alemanha, Estados Unidos, Suécia, Noruega, França, Inglaterra, República Tcheca, Bélgica, Finlândia e Japão, através de diversas distribuidoras underground. No final de 2006 Leonardo Schneider, ex-Hateworks, assume os vocais e a banda cria o Selo Decimating Records visando o lançamento do primeiro Full-Length. Já no mês de Março de 2007 a banda lança o seu primeiro Full-Length, Killing Tendency, com 7 novas músicas e como bônus as 3 músicas do Promo de 2003. Paralelamente ao lançamento nacional, o álbum Killing Tendency é lançado na Europa em formato K-7 pelo selo francês MALTKROSS PRODUCTIONS. Em Junho de 2007 a banda assina contrato com a gravadora carioca MARQUEE RECORDS para o lançamento e distribuição do álbum Killing Tendency. Com alterações no seu encarte o álbum é lançado em setembro de 2007 com uma excelente produção.

DECIMATOR was formed in July 1999, in Porto Alegre (RS/Brazil), with the aim of playing a fast, harsh and aggressive Thrash Metal, directly influenced by the style of its precursors. In February 2003, the first Promo CD was recorded, with three live songs that had good impact on the underground, with an approximate distribution of 450 copies. This work of disseminating the band resulted in about 50 shows in the States of RS and SC (Brazil), together with the most respected bands in the southern region. In December 2004, in partnership with the Dutch label Flemish Final Punishment Records, Decimating Thrashterror was launched, a compilation of promotional and rehearsal versions recorded in 2003. The 200 copies were quickly sold out, taking Decimator’s name to countries such as Holland, Germany, United States, Sweden, Norway, France, England, Czech Republic, Belgium, Finland and Japan, through various underground labels. At the end of 2006 Leonardo Schneider, former Hateworks, took over the vocals and the band created the label Decimating Records, seeking to release the first full-length. Already in March 2007 it launched its first full-length, Killing Tendency, with 7 new songs and 3 bonus songs from the Promo 2003. At the national release, the album Killing Tendency was launched in Europe in K-7 by the French label MALTKROSS PRODUCTIONS. In June 2007 the band signed a contract with MARQUEE Records, Rio de Janeiro, for the release and distribution of the album Killing Tendency. With changes in its inset, the album was released in September 2007, with an outstanding production.
